Because They Gave...

On this International Women’s Day, we pause to honor the women whose courage made our lives possible.

Women who dared.
Women who resisted.
Women who endured.
Women who gave more than the world was willing to acknowledge.

Long before we arrived, they were clearing paths.

They gave their labor.
They gave their brilliance.
They gave their voices, their time, their bodies, their faith, and their unwavering belief that something better was possible...even when they might never live to see it.

Because they gave, we gained.

We gained opportunities they were denied.
We gained freedoms they fought for.
We gained space to lead, to build, to imagine, and to become.

This year’s International Women’s Day theme, Give to Gain, reminds us that progress is never accidental. It is the result of people who are willing to give something of themselves so that others may experience something greater.

And now, the question returns to us.

What will I give?

What will you give?

What will we give?

What seeds will we plant for the generations that will come after us?

We walk through doors that were opened by women who believed in a future they could not yet see.

Because they gave, we gained.

And today, we carry that legacy forward—knowing that the choices we make, the courage we embody, and the love we extend will shape the world for those who follow.

After all, we can because our ancestors did.

We are the answer to our ancestors' prayers.
